2013 Educational Legislative One Pagers

Starting in 2011, the DPAC Advocacy and Policy Workgroup focused on building awareness of diabetes management and prevention education to policymakers. The intent is to provide consistent diabetes prevention and control information (general education and Michigan specific initiatives) to policymakers and keep diabetes on the radar as a top health priority. For two years the educational one pager(s) were delivered monthly; in 2013 they are now produced and distributed approximately bimonthly.

Promising Practices and Outcome Based Programs

Throughout 2011, the Diabetes Partners in Action Coalition (DPAC) Policy and Advocacy Workgroup has been active in compiling promising and outcomes-based diabetes programs in Michigan. For more information about any of these programs, please visit their websites or make a call to the contact person that is listed for each program. You can also download program information.

Meeting Information and Updates

Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 10:00 – 11:00am. Please contact Sally Joy for conference call information. In months when a DPAC Full Membership meeting is scheduled (twice each year), the workgroup will meet during the afternoon of that meeting rather than during the regularly scheduled time.
