Diabetes Prevention Control Program Update
Michigan Diabetes Awareness Month
Susan Deming of the Oral Health Program, MDCH, was the 2014 winner of the Sally Joy Leadership Award for her exceptional leadership in connecting her expertise in oral health to the world of diabetes prevention and management.

This award, presented jointly by the Michigan Diabetes Partners in Action Coalition (DPAC) and the American Diabetes Association, is given annually to those demonstrating passion for diabetes care and prevention. Susan received this award on November 13th at a Michigan Capitol event recognizing National Diabetes Month, which is November. Susan has championed the cause of better oral health leading to better diabetes management through many DPAC projects and the DPAC Training and Education Workgroup. Congratulations to Susan from the DPAC leadership and membership.
